Do I need to see a councilor?

I got robbed at knife point a few years ago and then my house got broken into and then I caught three other burgleries in my street all in one year. Before this I was fearless but in an irresponsible way I would walk home on my own really late at night and get in unmarked taxis all sort of stupid stuff. All these incidents have made me really careful but surely thats a good thing? my friends think i need to see a councilor because i get so afraid sometimes but i think its good to be aware of danger rather than the way i was before what do you think?
