Two easy quesitons about teeth?
If you want to you could but it isn't necessary. Stain is removed during your hygiene appointment and as long as you brush regularly you shouldn't pick up too much. If you bleed from brushing you dEfinitly have gingivitis. If you bleed from flossing you also do. While brushing does help with gingivitis, flossing daily is the main way to prevent it. This removes the bacteria that is in the space between the gums and tooth. This bacteria irritates the gums and causes them to be inflammed and can eventually begin to irritate the surrounding soft and hard tissue that keep the tooth in place, such as bone and periodontal ligaments. This destroys this structure and can eventually cause you to lose the tooth due to no bone being around it. When you are flossing make sure to wrap the floss tightly around your tooth and actually go underneath your gum until you feel a resistance and then sc down a few times to remove the plaque.
