God graciously saves those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ from the judgement they deserve causesd from their own sin/rebellion of the one true God. Jesus bears in Himself the sins of His people on the cross. Thus absorbing the penalty of sin on Himself, likewise grants the perfect righteousness status to all who come to Him. This is a free gift from God. The penalty of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
